Happy August, everyone! Another blog post, another promise to blog more... Hey, I do what I can since becoming a Mom three months ago. Since my last entry I have finished three paintings. Two more for my "Alphabet Animals" series, (which is currently stalled at "D") and one new Adventure Time painting.

D is for deer in a dress with a doll. |

C is for cat in a cape. (Based on our cat Elvis). |

Hopefully by my next entry, I'll have E-G finished. All of the letters are planned out, with some rough sketches. An elephant is up to the plate, with a fox and giraffe are on deck! I will be listing C and D in the shop sometime in the next week or so.
My Adventure Time mania continues! Here's the progression of a painting featuring Lady Rainicorn and Princess Bubblegum chilling with Peppermint Butler and Science the candy corn rat.

Next up, Lumpy Space Princess! |
Full-time Mommyhood restricts my painting and sketching to nap times, and so I have been progressing slowly the last few months. (Not that I'm complaining, I absolutely LOVE being a Mom :) ) Last week Ryan offered to care for Luke solo for one hour a day and one evening a week, so I could have a little more certainty to my work time. Ryan already helps to take care of Luke throughout the afternoons and evenings, but some concentrated art time is really exciting! I am hoping to get back into the swing of things (though, mostly likely still a slower swing) soon with some new illustrations for the shop.
And I have some exciting news to share. My friend Amy and I are putting together a horror anthology with some of our writer/illustrator friends! I've got two months to create some artwork for the project, so expect some spooky painting posts just in time for Halloween!
So awesome! And Gabriel is in love-- he has no idea what Adventure Time is but has a passion for rainbows :) We're looking forward to your spooky paintings ("spooky" just happens to be one of the wee one's favorite words) and he can't wait for Halloween and all it entails.
